Jill Marion, RN, IBCLC

Jill Marion, RN, IBCLC

I have always had a passion for supporting parents and their babies. My journey began more than a decade ago, when I trained as a birth doula while completing my nursing degree at Johns Hopkins University. Since then, I have supported breastfeeding families in several Washington, D.C.–area hospitals as a nurse in labor and delivery and mother–baby units.

After the birth of my daughter, I was inspired by the incredible wisdom of lactation consultants and the strength of new parent support groups. I loved helping fellow new parents navigate their breastfeeding challenges. This experience motivated me to pursue IBCLC certification, after which I began working as a private practice IBCLC in Washington, D.C.

When my family relocated to Phoenix in 2019, my son surprised us when he arrived nearly two months early. His prolonged NICU stay gave me a deeper understanding of the unique feeding and lactation challenges faced by parents of preterm infants.

Today, I work in both hospital and private practice settings, giving me a unique perspective on supporting breast/chestfeeding dyads at every stage of lactation. I especially enjoy helping clients define—and honor—their own goals and vision of success.
