My husband and I moved to Western North Carolina after college, drawn to the beauty of the area and the desire to put down roots and build community. When our son arrived, I was surprised by a myriad of postpartum challenges that ultimately set me on the path to becoming a Postpartum Doula and Lactation Counselor. Looking back, I see how transformative that season could have been had I known how—or felt able—to ask for more support. This realization was both painful and deeply clarifying, bringing with it a renewed sense of purpose and direction.

Throughout my life, I’ve been drawn to many forms of meaningful work and creative expression—from gardening and cooking to social work, mental health coaching, pottery, herbalism, and moving my body outdoors. When the roles of postpartum doula and lactation counselor came into my awareness, all of these experiences began to weave together into a larger, more cohesive picture. What once felt like separate interests suddenly made sense as parts of a whole.

I love this work and feel deeply honored to walk alongside parents, even briefly, during such a tender and transformative time in their lives.
