The Business Side of Supporting Pumping Parents: Buying, Storing and Selling Pump Parts

Offering flange fittings during a lactation consultation is now best practices, especially considering most people are pumping milk at some point during their lactation journey. Many clients don't have days to wait when they are pumping in pain or working to grow their milk supply. Adding pumping supplies to your private practice can be a great way to provide full service to those clients in need.  During this session, learn about the risks and benefits of adding this piece to your business.  We'll discuss ethical considerations, ordering and inventory management of products, licensing and tax considerations for your state/area, and marketing pump supplies to your clients.

At the end of this workshop, learners will be able to:
1. Review ethical considerations when considering adding products to your practice.
2. Weigh the risks vs. benefits of adding products to your lactation practice.
3. Discuss ordering and inventory management of lactation products
4. Review licensing and tax considerations for your state/area
5. Learn 3 ways to market pump supplies to your clients.

It is not required, but it's best (and you'll have fewer questions during the workshop) if you have already heard Jeanette Mesite Frem talk about flange fitting either in one of her courses for professionals or at a conference.
