Cesarean & Postpartum

Why Take This Class?

You're having a baby. Sometimes babies need to be born via a Cesarean (C-section) birth. If you are planning a Cesarean, high-risk for a Cesarean or just know that it's a good idea to know everything you can about it just in case you have one (since our country has a high Cesarean rate!), this class is for you.  Come find out what happens during a Cesarean and how to make it as comfortable, joyful and personalized as possible, this is the class for you!

What is Included in Class?

We'll go talk about a few things that can help PREVENT a Cesarean birth, the process from decision to have a Cesarean until you leave the hospital, before, during and after and what you might ask your doctor and medical team to do for you to make it more enjoyable and sacred--it's a very special moment, after all! We'll talk about how you can ask for a "family-centered" Cesarean and what that entails.

We'll talk about what to expect in the hospital during your stay as well as transitioning to parenthood at home and what makes that transition easier. FYI, this class includes a bit of massage practice for partners (that helps right before baby's arrival and after, too!). There will NOT be a video of a Cesarean, so don't worry about that.

Class also includes practical information on what your partner can do during your baby's Cesarean birth and afterward to help in the hospital and at home. You'll also receive a link to a generous selection of reading materials, a relaxation recorded for you by your childbirth educator (Jeanette) and added bonuses just for class participants!

This is a 2.5-hour private or semi-private class for $225 (one or two couples only).  Contact me if you are interested in scheduling this class at a time that is convenient for you (in Northborough).  jeanette@babiesincommon.com
